Three weeks of new tools for bands: gigBuddy and linkBuddy updates

Over the past three weeks, we’ve been working on practical ways to make the work around your music easier: planning gigs and rehearsals, keeping finances in order, and giving fans a fuller picture of your band. Here’s what’s new across gigBuddy and linkBuddy from September 6 to 27.
gigBuddy: smoother planning, setlists and finances
Get plans down faster
Quick Add lets you put a gig, rehearsal or task on the calendar without stepping through a longer form. For recurring practice, you can create a rehearsal series and set default rehearsal times. Gig and rehearsal proposals can also be marked as awaiting a vote, making it easier to see when the band still needs to decide.
Gig details now support fee templates and fee shares, so you can reuse common deal terms and see how costs are split. When you’re creating an invoice, gigBuddy can also suggest relevant band gigs to help connect the invoice to the right work.
Keep performance records together
You can now record the songs played for each gig, then export performance details for Buma/Stemra reporting. The export includes a year-to-date option. If your setlist is in a document or image, setlist import can extract songs for you to review and match against your repertoire before saving.
gigBuddy’s Bandsintown tools have also grown: you can export events with more control over the date range and time zone, and review the history of automatic syncs. That gives you a clearer view of what was sent and when.
Spend less time entering finances
Receipt import can read a receipt and suggest expense accounts, creating a draft purchase for you to review.
For invoices, you can see a per-invoice timeline that includes email delivery updates, and choose invoice language for clearer communication with clients.
gigBuddy’s finance tools now support accounting profiles for more countries and display amounts in the tenant’s currency, including on invoices and invoice emails. Shopify payout syncing and PayPal reconciliation have also been improved to help connect merchandise income with its payout and bank records.
Two new AI integrations help with the work behind these features. Mistral reads receipts and setlist documents, turning them into information you can review and use in gigBuddy. TypeSafe.AI helps with suggestions and matching, such as proposing expense accounts and spotting possible duplicate gigs during Bandsintown sync. These tools assist with imports and organization; you can review the results before they affect your records.
linkBuddy: give fans more of your story
linkBuddy is your public-facing band profile, separate from gigBuddy’s tools for running the band. Recent profile updates give you more ways to shape what fans see: add accolades such as awards, festival appearances and press quotes; build out your discography; and describe your sound with genre selections. These details complement your band bio, which you can maintain in multiple languages for your public profile.
These additions help your linkBuddy page bring together more than just links: fans can get a better sense of your releases, milestones and music before they head to a show or follow you elsewhere.
More to come
We’ll keep improving the everyday work of making music with gigBuddy, while helping bands present themselves clearly through linkBuddy. Thanks for building with us.
