Groups organizes contacts, suppliers, venues and festivals into named sets. Use Filter to view one group, and selection actions to change membership. Every member can filter; Contributor or higher can manage groups.
At a glance
| Choice | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Categories | Filters by the item’s category. You can select several categories. |
| Groups | Filters by one group’s members. Contact groups are shared between Contacts and Suppliers. Venue groups are separate. |
Categories
All categories start selected. Toggle individual checkboxes, or use All categories to clear or restore the complete set. Selecting a group restores all category choices. Returning to categories clears the active group.
Example
With Booker and Press checked, Contacts shows entries in either category. A contact in Network is hidden until that category is checked again.
Groups
- Open Filter and select Groups.
- Use Search groups.. to find a group. Up to ten matches are shown.
- Select one group. The main list shows its members that belong to the current directory. The main search can narrow them further.
An item can belong to several groups. Adding it again to the same group does not duplicate it. Remove from group changes only membership. Rename group keeps the active filter; Delete group removes the group and its memberships while keeping the items.
Example
A group has a supplier and a booker. Suppliers shows both. Contacts shows the booker because that directory excludes suppliers. Removing the booker from the group keeps it in both directories.
Where you set it
Contacts, Suppliers, Venues: use Filter to browse, the selection bar to add or remove members, and each group’s menu to rename or delete it. The Add selected to group dialog lets you choose an existing group or create a named group with the selection.
