Gigs can be imported in two ways: from a CSV file, or from Bandsintown through its API. Both end in a review table where you choose which gigs to import. Contributor or higher can import gigs.

Open the import

  1. Open Gigs from the side menu, under Planning.
  2. Select Import in the toolbar.
  3. Choose Import from CSV or Import from Bandsintown (API).

Import from Bandsintown (API) is listed only when Bandsintown is set up under Settings › Integrations.

Import from CSV

The dialog Import gigs from CSV takes a CSV file with one gig per row. A Bandsintown export is recognized automatically. For any other file you choose which column holds what. Duplicate rows are merged. Matching uses AI to suggest which of your saved venues and bands the file means, and which gigs may already be in your calendar. You confirm each suggestion before anything is imported.

  1. Choose the file. Select a CSV file. Under Your bands the dialog lists your bands with their Band name and ID. To link each gig to a band, add a column with the band's name or its ID.
  2. Map the columns. The dialog shows the number of rows and either Bandsintown export recognized: its columns are mapped for you. or Columns were matched by their names. Check them before you continue. A sample value is shown next to each column. Map a date, and an event name or a venue.
  3. Confirm the matches. Shown when a match is not exact. For Venues and Bands you see the text In your file, the Saved venue or Your band suggested, the Certainty and a tick under Use. An accepted match is used. A rejected venue or band is imported as written. Under Possibly already in your calendar, tick Skip for gigs that you already have.
  4. Review. The table lists the gigs found. Uncheck any you do not want. Venues and festivals without a match are created automatically. Rows without a readable date, or without a name or venue, are left out. A band name that is not one of yours leaves the gig without a band.
  5. Import. Import [n] gigs imports the selection.

Import from Bandsintown (API)

The dialog Import from Bandsintown fetches the upcoming events of your artist on Bandsintown. It needs an internet connection.

  1. The dialog shows Fetching upcoming events from Bandsintown… and then the events found for your artist.
  2. The table has Date, Event, Bandsintown venue / city, Type (Venue or Festival), Match in gigBuddy and Status. Uncheck any event you do not want to import. A venue or festival without a match shows Will be created: [name] and is created automatically.
  3. An event that may already be in your calendar is flagged. The tooltip says Possible duplicate, or Probably already in your calendar with the likelihood.
  4. Select Import [n] gigs.

Nightly import

The app also imports newly announced Bandsintown events every night. An event that may already be in your calendar is never imported automatically. Import it yourself from the Gigs page after checking.
