Manage band account holds the settings that decide how the band appears on gigBuddy: claiming the global band profile, the band’s web address, whether musicians can find the band, and the permanent deletion of the band.
Open Manage band account
- Open Settings.
- Under Band settings, select Manage band account.
Only an Admin sees this item. It applies to the band you are working in. In an artist profile the item is called Manage workspace and only holds Delete workspace permanently, described below.
Global band profile
Musicians can create public band profiles for bands that are not yet on gigBuddy, and may already be tagging their events with your band’s profile. Claiming that profile makes it yours. After it is approved, musicians who added you as their band and tagged events with it can join your band.
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Find your band | Search by band name; type at least 3 characters. Only unclaimed profiles are listed, as chips with the band name and country. Select a chip to choose the profile. |
| Message for the reviewer | Optional: tell how your band can be verified. |
| Claim this profile | Sends the claim for review. |
| Withdraw claim | Withdraws a claim that is still under review. |
A claim has the status Under review, Approved or Rejected. After a rejection the reason is shown and you can claim a different profile. Claiming is a request: it takes effect only once it is approved.
Change band slug
The unique name in the band’s public web address. The old address stops working immediately.
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Slug name | 1 to 64 lowercase letters, numbers or hyphens; it must start and end with a letter or number. |
| Save slug name | Saves the new name. The LinkBuddy pages update afterwards. |
Changing the slug needs the plan feature Customize your own web address (Band Gold). Without it the field is disabled and a diamond marks the item.
Let musicians find us
With the switch Findable in the band directory on, musicians can find the band by name and ask to join. Their request arrives under Members and invites (see Band settings) for you to approve or decline. The switch is off by default and saves as soon as you change it. Bands only appear in the search for bands to join if they chose to be findable.
Delete workspace permanently
Permanently deletes the band and all of its content. Choose Delete workspace permanently; a dialog Delete … permanently? follows.
- Read the warning: the workspace and all of its content are deleted and this cannot be undone. Download your financial records and other relevant data first.
- Type the exact workspace name under Type … to confirm.
- Tick I understand that this workspace and all its content will be permanently deleted.
- If it is your last workspace, also tick I understand that this ends my free trial and that it cannot be restarted. Deleting your last workspace ends your free trial immediately.
- Choose Delete permanently.
Only an Admin of the band can delete it.
