Import a setlist

Applies toBandRequiresContributor or higher

Import a setlist reads a photographed or printed setlist, lets you match its rows to repertoire songs, and creates the setlist after your review.

Open the import

  1. Open Setlists and select Import.

Band only, Contributor or higher. Import needs an internet connection. Reading a file does not yet add songs or setlists.

The dialog is titled Import a setlist. Cancel closes it while it is not busy.

Read a file

  1. Select Choose file.
  2. Choose a PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB. A PDF can have at most two pages.
  3. Wait for the review screen.

The reader extracts sets and song order, with titles, artists, keys, personal notes, durations, tempos and links when present. It matches the extracted songs against your band’s repertoire. Check the results; extracted text can be incomplete or wrong.

Review the rows

The review states that nothing has been saved yet. Name starts from the extracted name, or the filename if no name was found. Set names can be changed too. Each row shows its extracted facts and three actions.

ActionWhat it does
AddCreates a repertoire song from this row. The default for an unmatched row. Identical new title/artist combinations are created once, even if they occur more than once.
LinkUses an existing song. Exact matches start here; choosing Link yourself opens the song picker. Select the current song label to choose a different one.
SkipLeaves the row out. The source row remains visible for review.
Did you mean:Suggestions for nearby matches. Selecting a suggestion links the row to that song.

The summary counts new songs and skipped rows. You can change the setlist and set names and the match decisions here; change the running order or repertoire fields after import.

What is saved

ResultBehaviour
New songsReceive the extracted title, artist, key, duration and tempo.
Existing songsRetain their existing facts. An extracted duration or tempo fills a missing value, rather than replacing a saved one.
LinksAn extracted link is added to the song unless that address or a link for that platform already exists. It is not automatically your chosen setlist audio.
NotesSaved as your personal notes on the imported items, not shared song notes.
SetsCreated in the extracted order and included in the total. Skipped rows are left out; an empty set can remain.

Note

At most 20 sets and 200 source rows per import. Imported durations are limited to six hours per song and tempos to 400 BPM.
